Robotic Cutting

Obstructions in pipelines can cause unnecessary damage, expense and inconvenience. If not dealt with timely obstructions can cause blockages which in turn can result in damage and restrict the efficiency of your drainage network.

McBreen Enviro UK continue to invest in top of the range equipment, technology and have the experience to remove any blockages/obstructions in your drains utilising our state of the art Cosmic Robotic Cutter.

Robotic Cutting

How Robotic Cutting Works

Our Cosmic C120-Robotic Cutter is remotely controlled via CCTV by our experienced technician. The robotic cutter is adapted to the required pipe diameter and travels to the location of the blockage/obstruction. The diamond head is activated and efficiently removes any intruding connections, root infiltration, rock, concrete or heavy scale without the need for costly excavation. By using this process customers will save time and money aswell as this method being more environmentally friendly than excavation.

Our state of the art IBG 60 cutter system allows us to repair lateral connections in relined pipes as well as cut through obstructions. We also commonly use this system for trimming back intruding connections in the main sewer.

Cutting Attachment Sizes Available

  • Our C120 Cosmic Robotic Cutter can cut from 100mm to 600mm

  • 2 x IBG 60 systems cuts up to 450mm to 800mm

Concrete Injection

McBreen Enviro UK are experts in concrete injection as we have spent many years servicing this need right across Ireland. So we can stop leaks in minutes. How do we do it? We use our polyurethane resin to prevent and stop infiltrations to manholes and concrete structures. This stops leaks and provides a structural membrane behind the chamber.

Main Features

  • Resin expands rapidly when in contact with water
  • It stops leaks in minutes
  • Ideal for brick and concrete structures
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Non-disruptive sealing
  • And places impermeable coating outside structure
  • Stays permanently flexible
  • Resists ground water pressure
  • Diffuses vapour

Localised Part-Lining

McBreen Enviro offer expert localised part lining repair services to customers nationwide. In some cases where there is only a small section of deformed pipe that needs repair it is more cost effective to use a part liner rather than reline the entire pipeline. McBreen Enviro install a part liner with a resin known as Konodour OMPM.

Localised Part-Lining Overview

The Curing Process

This PARTLINER system or localised repair uses a Polyester impregnated corrosion-resistant fibreglass insert. It varies in length from 400mm to 1000mm, depending on the length of deformity in the pipe. We prepare the partliner in a truck and place it on a wet out table. A self-propelled robot places the packer at the correct position in the pipe where the defect is located.

A variety of Applications

We carry out Localised Repairs on pipe sizes ranging from 100mm to 1200mm, therefore it is very adaptable to the job in hand. The Epoxy component achieves superior sealing on wet surfaces. We have installed these on many different factories that have all different types of chemicals entering their lines. This extends the life of the pipe without the need for replacement, and eliminates the expense of digging or relining the entire pipeline.

Advantages of Part Liner Repairs

  • Installation can be from one access point, minimising the need for digging and the unnecessary disruption associated with it.

  • We repair all defects types in most pipe materials using this method. So we correct fractures, cracks, infiltration and other defects quickly and simply.
  • The advantage of the resin we use is that it can resist temperatures up to 80 degrees and also can resist most chemicals that enter lines.

Top-Hat Systems

Using our epros® Top Hat System with silicate resins we can repair connections directly from the main sewer. This permanently seals them and it is WRC approved. We use these resin systems specifically for lateral connection and short repairs. They are also easy to handle, so we can install them quickly. And they are known for their good mechanical properties and chemical resistance when cured. The patented two-component resin mixture consists of a resin and hardener. McBreen Enviro operatives are fully trained in application of this system to ensure a trouble free long life span.

  • Cured at ambient temperature within about 1 to 3 hours (we control and adjust cure times as necessary)

  • Excellent performance both at extreme temperatures – high and low

  • Very good resistance to harsh chemicals, acids and caustics (pH 1 – 13.5) after final cure

  • High temperature resistance of short/CIPP liner after final cure

  • No volatile organic compounds (styrene free)

  • Excellent adhesion to many pipe materials like vitrified clay, plastic, steel etc. with a close frictional and positive fit to HDPE pipes

  • Virtually no shrinkage (<0.6%)

  • We use them at a wide range of ambient temperatures

  • Excellent performance both at extremely high and at extremely low temperatures

  • Expected service life of more than 50 years as proven by 10,000-hour test

  • The cured resin is self-extinguishing and we can thus use it in critical areas such as airports and tunnels

  • Tested by independent bodies (IKT – Gelsenkirchen, WRc UK) in compliance with international standards such as DIBt, ASTM, WIS and DIN EN
